I have always admired my christian brothers and sisters who have decided to foster or adopt kids who aren’t their own. First off, because these people also understand the idea of being adopted into God’s family via Christ’s death and resurrection.
Secondly, because these people aren’t God — they don’t have his infinite power, patience, or energy…. And yet, they pour out themselves for the benefit of a defenseless child.
Even more, they say to this child, “You are mine.”
